As the current lineup of the Fantastic Four relaxes following a confrontation with Galactus, Reed Richards makes a small detour from his second honeymoon with Sue on Titan when he detects a foreign object entering our solar system from hyperspace. Consulting with Hank Pym, he discovers a message with potentially cosmic consequences for the Earth. But even as he mobilizes the Fantastic Four to investigate the origin of the device, he receives a transmission from Titan. The Frightful Four have struck out at Sue while Reed was away.
