When Wildcat encounters and defeats his old foe Sportsmaster, he discovers that the villain has been betting against himself in the fight thanks to an illegal gambling den where people place bets on the outcome of superhero clashes with villains.In the hopes of gaining leniancy, Sportsmaster takes Wildcat to the gambling den but it isn't long before the hero trashes the place.The next day, the owner of the club tells Sportsmaster that he is going to take on the entire Justice Society and win.
