In "Self Preservation," Aspen Matthews and Chance Calloway continue their quest to locate Aspen's missing father, Captain Matthews. Their journey leads them to a house where they believe he is hiding. Upon arrival, they discover the house is a trap set by Admiral Maylander, who is determined to capture Aspen. Meanwhile, Kiani and other members of the Blue engage in a battle against military forces, resulting in Kiani being severely injured by electric attacks.
