General Sam Lane has wheels in motion, and his plots look to be fomenting war between Earth and New Krypton. Working with Ral-Dar, he's orchestrated an assassination attempt on Zod. In a risky gambit, he allows Ral-Dar to overhear him discussing the President authorizing war with New Krypton.

Now Ral-Dar is speeding to Markovia where he presumably intends to kill the President. Superman and Supergirl have come to Earth to stop him, with the aid of Mon-El. However, Lane's forces have split them up by using Mirabai's magic to make Reactron and Metallo appear to be Nightwing and Flamebird on a pro-Kryptonian rampage.
