In Dras’Adin, the subterranean capital of the Vampire Nation, a once-in-50-years ceremony to reaffirm the Blood Queen’s rule draws every clan to the throne hall. As the royal procession advances, a coordinated ambush—a storm of projectiles from hidden assassins—erupts inside the city, throwing the court into chaos and tilting the succession struggle.
The attack is part of Drakken’s coup. Fighting spreads through the tunnels as the Queen’s general Raithan scrambles loyalists to shield her and hold the seat of power.
Wetworks moves amid the melee to keep the Night Tribes’ conflict from spilling topside, mindful that a regime change could shatter the fragile détente with humanity. The team’s presence is tactical and limited; they’re working to contain the coup rather than pick a monarch. (Context from arc coverage.)
Parallel B-plot: Pilgrim is running surveillance on Mother One and uncovers unexpected communications/behavior, deepening suspicion that Mother One is acting on instructions beyond Waering’s agenda.
By issue’s end, Dras’Adin is a battleground, the Blood Queen’s position is shaken, and Drakken’s bid has momentum—setting up the continuation of the vampire civil war in the next chapter.
