When a team of scientists mysteriously vanishes from a government atmospheric research facility, agents Mulder and Scully arrive to investigate. Their probing leads them to believe that the scientists were killed, incinerated by a phenomenon known as ball lightning. But with the lack of evidence the agents must find the truth quickly before more victims, or even themselves, disappear.
