Alan Scott is feeling down because it is Thanksgiving and his daughter, Jennie-Lynn is dead. He and 2 other JSA members are at the Thanksgiving day parade when a balloon of Superman explodes, showering the crowd with pink dust. When Solomon Grundy attacks, Green Lantern handles him while the others deal with the crowd. While cleaning up after the fight, the power of the Starheart is drained from Green Lantern, and is now under the control of Vandal Savage.
