Carol Danvers is back, saved from a drowning death by Spider-Woman. With Professor Xavier's help, she may recover, but her powers have been permanently stolen by Rogue. Rogue and Mystique execute an incredibly well orchestrated attack against the Avengers to steal the power of their strongest members, and to use that power to break the Brotherhood of Mutants out of the Ryker's Island prison. If they succeed, they'll still need to face up to one of their greatest failures.
