Johnny leaves college to rejoin the team on Xandar, and gets there in time to team up with Reed, Sue, Thing, Nova and the other Champions. They join forces to prevent the Sphinx from using the information from Xandar's computers to destroy the Earth. They are not powerful enough to do this on their own, however, so they decide to split up. The Champions will remain with Xandar to fend off the Skrull threat, while the Fantastic Four will try to recruit Galactus to aid them against the Sphinx.
