The X-Men have been captured by the Brood, but only Wolverine realizes that their senses are deceiving them. He fights, realizing that they are hosts for the Brood's reproductive process. His mutant healing factor is enough to save him, but it's going to take a lot more than that to save his friends. If they can't be saved, he'll at least make sure they don't live through the torture of being transformed.
