In the course of multiple independent investigations, the Justice League are beaten, or as it appears in one case, recruited by the Hyperclan. The Hyperclan gloat over their easy win, their mind control technology, and the fact that the JLA still haven't figured out who they are, but they'd rather assume Batman dead than risk investigating the fiery wreck of the Batwing.
