In this chapter, Peter Parker confronts a dire revelation: he is dying from an unknown cause. Seeking answers, he turns to some of the Marvel Universe's brightest minds—Reed Richards, Hank Pym, and Bruce Banner—but even they are unable to diagnose his condition. As Peter grapples with his mortality, he must also contend with the villain Tracer, who challenges him during this vulnerable time.
Spider-Man is not happy with his diagnosis. At May's request, he goes for a second opinion. He also goes for third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth opinions, but the results all come back the same.
This issue is part of the The Other: Evolve or Die storyline, which spans across three Spider-Man titles: Amazing Spider-Man, Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, and Marvel Knights Spider-Man. The narrative arc delves into themes of mortality, identity, and transformation, marking a significant period in Spider-Man's comic history.
