Sara Pezzini has reached a turning point. After years of being the Witchblade’s bearer, she is physically and emotionally strained—especially with a mysterious pregnancy she can’t explain. Meanwhile, Danielle “Dani” Baptiste, a talented ballet dancer returning to New York in search of meaning, begins having dreams and visions of the Witchblade.

As ancient forces stir and mystical threats loom, the Witchblade itself senses a need for change. During a supernatural confrontation, the artifact splits in two, allowing Dani to take up part of its power. Sara, though reluctant, accepts that it's time to pass the mantle and protect her unborn child.

This issue marks a major transition, both for the character and the series, as Dani becomes the new bearer and the Witchblade enters a new era.

Themes: Legacy, rebirth, passing the torch, and duality of power.

Despite that this is not a key issue in terms of market value, many readers and fans do consider Witchblade #100 a "reader’s key" or "lore milestone":

It marks the passing of the Witchblade from Sara to Dani.

It sets up the next major arc (First Born), which shifts the power dynamics of the Top Cow Universe.

It features beautiful art and multiple covers, making it a collector's favorite even if it doesn't fetch high prices.
