Following their encounter with the Hecatomb, the X-Men travel to a home in Mississippi, owned by Mystique. The team begins to settle in, and to see whether or not the X-Men remaining at the school can provide any assistance with Rogue's condition. But little do the X-Men know that forces are already moving against them in secret. A pair of former friends confront Cable, as he works to restore his island of Providence, and mysterious figures with ties to one of the darkest hours of the X-Men's past work their way through New Orleans with dark purpose.
