Constantine has quit the team; as he drinks his sorrows away (he hopes), Deadman uses the body of a young woman to attack him! Deadman still resents John's trapping him in Sea King's body during the Blight affair. But Constantine is such a mess Deadman is almost sorry.

At the House, Zatanna swims and Nightmare Nurse joins her, explaining that she came to the League because she's a healer and the world needs healing. She isn't there for John and might be open to a relationship with Zatanna, who is not interested. In another room, Deadman tries to convince Frankenstein and Black Orchid to remain, but they are determined to leave: Frankenstein is a solitary creature and Black Orchid has questions about her origins she wishes to explore. The doorbell rings. A drunk Constantine has returned, and easily handles Frankenstein, Nightmare Nurse and Black Orchid with spells. Deadman tries possession, but Constantine ejects him. Zatanna arrives and Constantine begs five minutes, during which he explains his dismay when she thought more highly of a demon that sacrificed itself than the man it came from. She explains that she was shocked, but then concluded that the demon was an aspect of John, revealing he is capable of such altruism. He says no, she's projecting her own goodness onto him. He kisses her goodbye and asks her not to forget him, as he leaves.

The Justice League Dark is only Zatanna, Deadman, and the Nightmare Nurse. Zatanna summons Swamp Thing. Naturally, Alec is annoyed to be summoned again. Zatanna promises she won't do it again but asks him to listen for a few moments. That's interrupted when Nightmare Nurse bursts into flames! She dies, but then somehow lives again - except that now she says her name is Alice.
