Vandal Savage studies the man he has decided to kill, the original Green Lantern. At the same time, he has more flashbacks to his earlier life, as a caveman and as the pirate Blackbeard. His equipment is failing, and his health seems to be failing even faster, but he finally figures out how to get to Alan Scott. He will use Scott's friend, Wesley Dodd, the Sandman.
