Catwoman has returned to Gotham, after "No Man's Land". New apartment, new outlook, new challenges. When she finds out about a crystal spire, a symbol of Gotham, to be unveiled the following day, she determines to steal it! First, she waylays an electrician and steals his gear. Then she visits the display and uses a cat and toy to set off the alarm. Using that excuse, she foxes the alarm and steals what's under the sheet. The next day, the unveiling, and instead of the spire, there is a cat scratching post bearing a note: "Gotham is back and so am I!" and signed Catwoman. But what did Catwoman get? A bowling trophy! Because Ruben, the guard, had *already* stolen the spire! All things considered, Catwoman is happy with how things turned out, but Jim Gordon sure isn't. He's determined that the new Gotham will not be like the old Gotham, and to that end, he's going to hunt down Catwoman!
