Salaak rescinds Gardner's shore leave and revokes it for another year, sending Gardner out to help Tanakata Z and Quond. On Korugar, Soranik uses her ring surreptitiously to help the injured, building a reputation as a healer, countering the fear the Korugarans have of Green Lanterns. As Gardner tries to help Tanakata and Quond, the former seems driven to goad the latter into standing up against Gardner.Vath Sarn and Isamot Kol go to see Mogo, Vath insistent that Mogo can help his friend. When they arrive, Isamot finds Green Man apparently meditating but surrounded by glowing yellow orbs. Isamot leaves him and flies off.Soranik is discovered by the Korugaran police who break up her clinic; trying to help her, Kilowog and Iolande arrive and attack the police but this merely reinforces the Korugarans fear of Lanterns. When they leave, Soranik leaves with them.Tanakata urges Quond to refuse to help Gardner and, after arguing with Gardner, they both leave him.At a Sector House, Iolande and Soranik argue over how best to help the people of Korugar overcome the phobia of Lanterns before Kilowog breaks them up. Iolande is partnered with Soranik and Kilowog goes to Mogo, flying through a field of the yellow orbs which, in close up, appear to contain lifeforms reminiscent of the Parallax parasite.
