Jericho kills the original Wildebeest leader and brings Nightwing to one of the labs to witness the “transference process.” Troia, Deathstroke, Red Star, Dayton, Pantha, Phantasm and Arella attack the Wildebeest headquarters to locate their teammates and split into teams. Deathstroke tells Phantasm he has deduced his true identity. Phantasm is downed and a small human hand emerges from the cloak.
The Titans and their allies all converge in the lab as the transference process begins. Jericho reveals that he is/are the Souls of Azarath, looking for mortal forms to host the Trigon-tainted souls. It seems the tainted souls of Azarath regained their strength and merged with Jericho shortly after Trigon’s second defeat. This explains how his vocal chords have healed and his soul-self manifestations. The souls now need powerful vessels for each of them to survive. Now possessed by this force, Jericho sought to acquire superhuman beings as vessels for the souls of Azarath. He used the Wildebeest Society as a front to kidnap the Titans to house the tainted souls of Azarath.
The real Jericho briefly resurfaces and pleads with his father to end the madness, forcing Deathstroke to drive a sword through his son, killing him.
