In The Begining, two mighty races, the noble Kherubim and the hateful Daemonites, clashed in the depths os space. Their battles raged through solar systems. During one such clash, one warship from each cide crashed on a remote, insignificant planet ---- Earth. For millenia, these starnded aliens have continued their struggle hiding their war from mankind. The Daemonites seek to conquer the worl. Their lords, Helspont, Defile, and the upstart, sel-proclaimed Lord High Tower, all compete and struggle against each other for ultimate power. Their constant infighting is one factor that keeps them from their goal of world domination. The other factor is the Kherubim. Ceaselessly vigilant, they have become covert wariors in the battle to keep earth free from Daemonite tyranny. Jacob Marlowe, also known as EMP, gathered a handful of Kherubim and crossbreed heroes to become humanity's defenders ... the WildC.A.T.S.Two decades ago, during a secret mission in Nicaragua, Team 7 Member Deathblow found a withered hand clutching a mysterious key. He broke off half of the key for a souvenir, setting in motion a catastrophic chain of events...More recently, Defile launched a plot to rid himself of the WildC.A.T.S and the U.N. superteam Stormwatch by pitting these heroes agaist each other. He kidnapped the WildC.A.T.S' Maul and replaced him with Mr. White, a shapeshifting Daemonite. Defile then mauted Maul into a hideous, unthinking killing machine and set him loose on a mision of destruction. Though Stormwatch defeated Maul, their leader, Battalion, was killed in the battle. When the WildC.A.T.S discovered the imposter, they began a search for Maul that ended when Void freed him from a Stormwatch security lab. Angry and frustrated at his escape, Stormwatch swore vengence on the WildC.A.T.S.Seeking Maul's kidnapper, the WildC.A.T.S followed a trail of false leads to washington, D.C., and a battle with High Tower and his Coda allies! The battle ended with an explosion that left the WildC.A.T.S battered, bruised ... and easy targets for Stormwatch! After thousand of years, thais war now enters its final stages.
