After centuries in slumber, Frankenstein—reimagined as a grim, undead warrior—is awakened by the mysterious group known as S.H.A.D.E. (Super Human Advanced Defense Executive) to battle an insidious threat: the Sheeda, a race of time-traveling, parasitic beings bent on harvesting Earth’s greatest champions in their final moments.
Frankenstein’s first mission brings him to a devastated American town called Mars, Idaho, where the Sheeda have used a monstrous agent named Uglyhead to enslave and terrorize the population. The horror is palpable—bodies hang from telephone poles and citizens have been mutated or massacred.
Armed with his giant sword and unmatched resolve, Frankenstein confronts Uglyhead in a battle that’s as much psychological as it is physical. We see glimpses of Frankenstein’s inner torment—memories of his cursed origin and an eerie poeticism that contrasts sharply with the violence he dishes out.
By the end of the issue, Frankenstein emerges not just as a monster hunter—but a monster with a conscience, fighting to redeem a world that fears and misunderstands him.
