This issue reprints the first story from Sub-Mariner Vol. 2 #3 (originally June 1968), featuring Namor in an undersea conflict.
"On a Clear Day You Can See… The Leviathan!"
Namor, the proud Prince of Atlantis, continues his quest to protect his underwater kingdom from surface-world threats. After the events of the previous issues, Namor faces a massive undersea menace: a mechanical beast called The Leviathan, a deadly war-machine designed by surface dwellers and activated by the sinister forces of destiny and manipulation.
As the ocean trembles under the Leviathan’s destructive power, Namor races to confront it head-on — a literal clash between Atlantean might and technological terror. But the deeper challenge isn’t just brute strength — it’s the realization that the enemy may be using Atlantis’s own secrets and machinery against it.
Meanwhile, there are growing signs of a shadowy force pulling strings behind the scenes — raising questions about who truly commands the Leviathan, and whether Namor’s war with the surface world is being manipulated to benefit someone else’s agenda.
The issue climaxes with a spectacular underwater battle that leaves Namor both physically battered and mentally unsettled, as he realizes that brute force alone may not save Atlantis from what’s coming next.
