Journalist Jack Simon lures Supreme to an abandoned Arizona facility and reveals a disturbing history: the “original” Supreme was a violent WWII-era experiment—Ethan Crane, transformed by Dr. Horatio Wells—whose exploits were later sanitized for the public. Simon argues today’s Supreme is a different being, the product of attempts to recreate the original, and hints the real Supreme may still be out there. The revelation shakes Supreme’s identity as the narrative bridges past atrocities, government cover-ups, and present-day mysteries, setting up the events between #31 and #32.
