In the “Interlude” story, Supreme deals with the last of Darkthornn’s Disciples wreaking havoc on Earth, but sustains a serious eye injury during the fight. Dexter Cortex contacts him and offers to treat the injury, pulling Supreme into the orbit of Cor-Tek. Meanwhile, Charles Flanders takes Supreme to his cabin in the Allegheny Mountains for a vacation, though that peace is short-lived. Glory appears and makes contact, leading to confusion and a violent confrontation. Equinox also surfaces, seeking vengeance for his daughter and forcing Supreme into a difficult moral choice: he must break a staff that would destroy everything around it to stop the threat. Eventually, Roe (Equinox’s daughter) persuades Supreme to spare the world, though the emotional and metaphysical cost is high.
