In Hell Again, Hell Again, Jiggety Jig, Ambush Bug quite literally goes to hell — again — in another chaotic episode that mocks comic-book logic, death, and the afterlife. After an existential mishap involving his talking costume and the ever-watchful Jonni DC, Ambush Bug finds himself cast into a surreal parody of damnation, complete with editorial demons and narrative punishments. As he attempts to “retcon” his way out of perdition, the story satirizes DC’s continuity obsession in the wake of Crisis on Infinite Earths.
Full of fourth-wall breaks and visual gags, the issue showcases Keith Giffen’s manic layout style and Robert Loren Fleming’s gleeful disregard for storytelling convention — cementing Son of Ambush Bug as DC’s ultimate self-aware comedy.
