The Avengers receive Captain Marvel's delayed message, and regroup to help her. Firelord, who has been pitching in to make amends for his rampage, chooses to join them. They head to the Andromeda Galaxy, and meet up with Captain Marvel, learning how she and the Skrulls managed to fake their own deaths to regroup. After a heated debate, the Avengers decide to ally with the Skrulls to stop the greater threat of Nebula and the stolen Sanctuary II.
