Set in the year 2232 AD, the story follows Serenity, known as War Angel, an amoral assassin-for-hire. After a near-fatal encounter, she seeks refuge and income in the post-apocalyptic city of Sodom (formerly Las Vegas). The city is under the control of an imperialistic Warlock clan and a coven of sado-science-worshiping vampires. War Angel manipulates these factions against each other, but her actions may have unforeseen consequences.
