Professor Stein's former student from Hudson University, Crystal Frost, is working at the Mohole 1 Research Station in the Arctic. She is accidentally locked inside of a thermafrost container, which alters her body chemistry transforming her into the villain Killer Frost. Martin Stein prompts the transformation into Firestorm, and they succeed in re-sealing her into the freezer unit, thus eliminating her powers.
