The Rann-Thanagar war is still going strong after more than a year, and Hawkman is there trying to keep things under control. He has been gathering evidence that Blackstar, a valued advisor to the Thanagar leader the Grand Mor, is a murderer and keeping the war going for her own purposes. Hawkman hides the evidence on Earth, which causes Blackstar to break some criminals out of prison and set them on him. At the end, she confronts Hawkman, and tells him that by that time, Hawkgirl is dead and the evidence is destroyed.
