The Hate-Monger returns, spreading his message of division and violence, and targeting innocent people with his fear-fueled rhetoric. Spider-Man becomes personally involved after a crowd is whipped into a frenzy, and the situation turns violent.
As the Hate-Monger rallies his followers, Spider-Man steps in to prevent tragedy, but finds himself overwhelmed by both the crowd and the villain’s psychological manipulation. A battle breaks out, forcing Spidey to fight not just a costumed villain but an entire mob under his influence. With the help of his quick thinking and physical skill, Spider-Man manages to turn the tide, defeating Hate-Monger and dispersing the mob before real harm is done.
The issue closes with Peter reflecting on the real danger of hatred — how it can turn ordinary people into weapons, and how difficult it can be to fight something that isn’t just physical.

Condition & Grading Notes:
Front cover shows a light fold/crease at the bottom right and moderate surface wear. Back cover has typical age toning but no stains or mold. Pages are tanned but flexible. Several interior pages, including the centerfold, are detached from the staple—this is the most significant defect. Minor spine stress is present, but there’s no splitting. Interior paper is clean with no major tears. Book has the characteristic “old comic” smell due to newsprint oxidation. Overall structure remains solid and fully readable. |
